Hello Sunset Families,

I am so excited to introduce myself to you and honored to have been chosen to serve as the next Principal of Sunset Elementary. I have heard wonderful stories about our families and students and your commitment to seeing success in Sunset community, and I am thrilled to be a part of it.

From the time I was young, I knew I wanted to be an educator – you’ll see a painting I made in elementary school of myself as a teacher hanging in my office. I began my journey in Detroit, Michigan before coming to Arizona in 2014. I taught in the Deer Valley Unified School District at one of their Title I schools for 5 years before finding my home in the Washington Elementary School District. While in the 国产探花, I have served as Instructional Coach at Sahuaro Elementary, then Assistant Principal at Manzanita Elementary. I have spent the last 11 years working as an educator, serving communities like our own and I cannot imagine doing anything else.

In my role as Principal of Sunset Elementary, it is my goal to prepare all students to be academically, socially, and emotionally prepared for life outside of school. Our children and families face so much adversity and amaze me daily with their resilience. Our families cannot and should not face it alone. Throughout my career in education, I have been, and will continue to be, an advocate for the needs of our students and families. I truly believe that every student has the right to equitable access to their education, and a strong home-school connection is crucial to achieve that.

I am so privileged that my path has led me to Sunset, and I get to serve this community. I cannot wait to watch us grow and achieve our goals together!
