Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

  • Desert View will be implementing the PBIS program during the 2022-23 school year. This program is new to the campus, so we will spend much of the year introducing this program to students, parents, staff and community members. During this program, we will be focused on reinforcing positive student behaviors to encourage them to continue to make good choices. Our focus will be on helping students to make choices that are safe, respectful, and responsible. We will also be setting common expectations for all students across all areas on campus.

Another key part of PBIS is to remember that no student has the right to interfere with the learning, safety or well-being of others. Desert View also has a very strict anti-bullying program. Bullying of any kind will not be tolerated at our school, and serious consequences will be imposed for this behavior.

As we implement PBIS this year, we hope to incorporate daily communication with all parents. Direct parent involvement with the student’s daily progress and academic achievement will generate student success. We look forward to sharing more information about PBIS at Desert View as we introduce it to the students and families during the year.
